I am not sure if you are aware but the Government has issued a direction to NHS Digital (IT provider for the whole of the NHS) to collect data for research and development from GP Practices. When NHS Digital does this they issue a ‘Data Provision Notice’ under the Health and Social Care Act 2012 Section 259.
As a Practice we are legally obliged to comply with the latest data provision notice for Research and Planning. General Practice Data for Planning and Research – NHS Digital
There is an opt-out available on this link and we wanted to let you know we are doing all we can in the timescales we have (which are very short) to let patients know. Complete the form before 30th June 2021.
