Are you aged between 15 and 24 years old? You can pick up a free, self screening kit from reception. You do not need to be registered at the surgery to get one. Contact the surgery for details or visit
Free hearing screening clinic
Problems with hearing? Worried your hearing has diminished?
Just book in to our alternate Wednesday Scrivens clinic. You do not need to be registered at the surgery to qualify for this service.
Vaccinations
Travel Vaccinations are available for all ages during normal surgery times by appointment with the Practice Nurse
Flu Clinics are held from October to December, however vaccines may be available the last week of September. Please phone reception nearer the time. The Clinics are run by the Health Care Assistants and Practice Nurses. It is advised that all imunosuppresent patients have the flu vaccination annually. It is also available for Pregnant women over 8 weeks.
Pneumonia Vaccine is available to all patients over the age of 65 years all year round, please book a routine appointment with the Practice Nurse.
Asthma
The Practice Nurses are trained in Asthma, they can offer a review as well as check inhaler technique. Having a regular Asthma review may help reduce any symptoms. It is recommended that all Asthmatics have an Asthma Review.
Diabetic Monitoring
The Practice Nurses are trained in Diabetes, they offer 6 month and 12 monthly reviews to help you understand and monitor your diabetes. It is important that all Diabetic Patients attend a Retinopathy Screening annually as Diabetes can lead to blindness. The nurses run regular Diabetic Clinics.
New NHS Health Check
An NHS Health Check is available to all patients over the age of 45 years please ask for an appointment with the Health Care Assistant or Practice Nurse.
High Blood Pressure
You can book your blood pressure review with one of the Health Care Assistants. For a full Hypertension Review please book with the Practice Nurse
Bloods
For routine blood tests, please book an appointment with the Health Care Assistant. Bloods will not be booked after 16:30 hours Monday to Friday except for Thursdays after 11:00 am as we do not have a collection after these times.
Minor Surgery
Excision of sebaceous cysts, moles and any other skin lessions is carried out by our female doctor in surgery. If you think you require an excision please book an appointment with a doctor for an assessment and referral for minor surgery.
Joint and soft tissue injections
Shoulder, knee, hip, wrist, heel and elbow injections are offered by the doctor at the surgery, please book an appointment for an assessment and referral.

Midwife
Our Midwife holds clinics as follows:
Northwood Medical Centre: Tuesday mornings of every month.
Alvechurch Medical Centre: Wednesday mornings.
Appointments are booked directly with the midwife.
